Tulare County Healthy for Life Coalition
The Tulare County Healthy for Life Coalition was formed in 2009 in response to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Communities Putting Prevention to Work (CPPW) grant opportunity. Although not funded by this grant, the coalition has continued working collaboratively for the last two years to improve equal access to healthy and affordable foods. The Coalition’s work in 2011 has focused on conducting a countywide assessment of the School Breakfast Program with the aim of improving school food environments and access to nutritious foods for our school children. The Coalition welcomes public participation and actively conducts outreach to promote healthy eating and active living in the county.
