Hunger and Obesity: Understanding a Food Insecurity Paradigm
“Hunger and Obesity” is designed to provide an opportunity to explore and illuminate the relationship between food insecurity and obesity, the current state of research, and the data and analysis needed to advance understanding of the relationship as a way of countering both hunger and obesity in the United States. Some topics include evidence of the relationship between food insecurity and obesity as well as how research questions from the perspective of nutrition, sociology, human development, and economics can better help us understand the issue so that policy communities will be able to integrate these perspectives. The document concludes with takeaway points as well as steps forward in regards to addressing hunger and obesity.
